Oli hails from Halton in east Leeds. Teaching himself guitar at secondary school, he formed the band that became Marsicans with school friends in 2011. He has a degree in Fine Arts and has set the tone for the band's visuals from the early days.

Marsicans are a Leeds-based indie band on the verge of releasing their debut album. Named in The Guardian's 50 Best New Artists for 2020 and with singles receiving Radio 1 support, the last 12 months have seen them sell out Stylus at Leeds University Union, support Foals, Kaiser Chiefs and We Are Scientists in the UK and Europe. They play their first shows in the USA at SXSW 20 this March.
