Miranda Arieh

The Daughter of a classically trained pianist and Iranian New Yorker; also the loudest singer at school assembly.

Jumping out of her bedroom window to freedom at 14, little did Miranda know that this first descent would wind her up in the adolescent unit at Highroyds Hospital Leeds, where she first picked up a guitar with only one string; this crisis propelling her into becoming the unique singer songwriter and mental health campaigner that she is today.

Jumping yet again in 2017, but this time behind the wheel of a crippled camper van, Miranda set off playing hundreds of shows, crafting the material that would make up her debut album Ferine, which was recently launched to a sold out Hyde Park Book Club.

From the music videos that preceded the album’s release, to the LP’s gorgeously gilded artwork; Arieh has arrived as a bold, fully-formed star in the making.

Possibly the most intriguing and different sounding artist we have ever featured. Receiving high acclaim for her left-field approach in the form of the Leeds Music Video Awards two years running, she has already become recognised for all the right reasons. However, with Miranda gaining a prestigious Inspiring Women Changemakers award for her mental health campaigning, it’s clear that her presence goes beyond the music she creates.”- Listen To Discover

A quasi mix of Bowie, Lennox, and Gaga all in one.. Arieh’s the reinvention of pop music..” - Klefnotes Music Blog

Her videos are incredible. They are little contemporary art pieces. They’re truly beautiful.” Alan Raw, BBC Introducing

Tonight’s performance is filled with messages and dedications, Arieh using her platform to spread something positive and hopeful. Her work as a mental-health campaigner irrefutably tied to her work as an artist.” - Andy Brown, Soundblab
