Halemtina ("we are dreamers" in Tigrigna, Eritrean language) began with Fnan, a free style singer and song writer. Fnan wrote a number of lyrics and created a melody that evolved into songs. Songs inspired by Fnan’s life, an Eritrean women who wants to bring positive change through music. Taking influence from world music, she began playing these songs with a number of different Leeds-based musicians.
Creative Performance inspired from Fnan’s deep research in culture and tradition from all over the world is part of Halemtina’s Style.
